In this paper we present the parallelization of the wavelet transform for 3D semi-regular meshes. We discuss two aspects of this process: the data structures and the algorithmic requirements for the parallelization of the wavelet transform. The implemented data structures are designed such that they are suitable for use on platforms that rely heavily on caching such as the target platform, a recent multi core x86 architecture. The final speedup is achieved by using coarse-grained data parallelism.
