We present a novel approach of millimetre wave power generation using active microstructured nonlinear transmission line (NLTL) oscillators consisting of a periodic array of resonant tunneling diodes (RTDs). RTD-NLTLs resonators have been measured to operate as distributed oscillators up to 50 GHz with power output up to minus 10 dBm.
