Ing. Diana Deac obtained her MSc degree in Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications and Information Technologies from the Technical University of Cluj Napoca, Romania in 2020. She is now working on a joint PhD at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and Technical University of Cluj Napoca.
With the emergence of markets enabled by low power and lossy networks and the Internet of Things (IoT), the need for standardizing new protocols or enhance already existing ones is evident. The main goal of the PhD research is to improve the existing medium access control and network layer protocols for Wireless Sensor and Actuator Networks. The improved/new versions of the protocols should adapt to highly dynamic and scalable networks. To test the improved/newly developed protocols real testbeds along with testbeds developed in dedicated simulators will be used. Clear guidelines and mathematical models will be also implemented to back-up the practical findings.
