Summary of the project:brMachining (i.e. metalworking operations such as milling or drilling) is still one of the most important and challenging processes in the fabrication of high-quality parts. This project brings together research and industrial partners with complementary knowledge in order to envision a data-driven approach for controlling and monitoring machining processes in decentralised manufacturing environments. The goal of this project is threefold: 1) constructing a measurement approach to capture useful data from machining processes, 2) conceive a data-driven methodology to monitor an individual machining process, and 3) leverage the data originating from decentralised manufacturing sites to optimize the process operation in another, yet similar manufacturing site.brbrbrKey words:brmachining, data analytics, decentralised manufacturing, monitoring and optimisationbr
